Niche topic related ebooks and other information products are a great way to establish your sales presence in broad consumer markets that might be otherwise closed to small online marketers, or at least difficult to enter.
But it's important that you also understand this.
Selling niche information products like the 32 titles included in
Niche Market Revenue Package (while it can be extremely profitable) is not the end of your profit trail. In fact, it's just the beginning!
I want you to start right now with a little mental trick. I want you to start thinking of niche info products not as just something to sell, but instead as "door openers" and "lifetime customer finders."
And now, realize this. With every niche related ebook or report you sell, you are also making a contact and opening a relationship with a proven and qualified online buyer.
Not only will you have their name and email address, you will also know exactly what they are interested in buying.
For instance, when Mary Worth buys an e-cookbook from your site, you'll know for a fact that Mary is interested in cooking. It's only a short step from her initial purchase, to getting her interested in other kitchen and culinary related items. (But where are you gonna find these items? I'll show you in a minute.)
First, let's talk about how you can set up an automated system that will:
- maintain a line of communication for as long as you want between you and Ms. Mary Worth, the cooking enthusiast
- how you can get her to trigger the system by voluntarily submitting her name and email (no - there are no tricks here - nothing sneaky or underhanded)
- and how this system will not only save you a lot of work, it will generate profit for as long as you let it run - even for years if you want (and why wouldn't you?)
YOUR AUTOMATED BACK-END PROFIT SYSTEM
The core of the entire system is a good autoresponder. If you've been marketing online for any time, or even studying online marketing, you already know what I'm talking about.
But just in case, an autoresponder is essentially an email robot. It is designed to send pre-written messages, over any period of time, to anyone who triggers the system by submitting their email address. If this sounds scary at the moment, don't worry. Modern autoresponders are very simple to set up and easy to get.
MORE ABOUT MARY - THE COOKING ENTHUSIAST
Let's go back to the day when Mary Worth ordered her first e-cookbook from your website, and go through the steps of her order process. Then we'll see how this autoresponder system comes to play.
Step 1 - Mary has clicked your order button and submitted her credit card information to your online payment processor (ie. ClickBank, PayPal, 2CheckOut, etc.)
Step 2 - The processor verifies her credit card information, and the transaction is approved and finalized. Funds from the sale are added to your account.
Step 3 - Now it's time for Mary to download her e-cookbook. Your payment processor will automatically re-direct Mary to a hidden "thank you" page on your website (at whatever URL you configure for that particular product.)
But instead of providing the download link on the thank you page, you're going provide a link (or a form) to your autoresponder system, and ask Mary to send it an email. The system is triggered, and within a couple of minutes it fires back a pre-written message (that you configured and customized yourself) containing Mary's download link. She downloads her cookbook and is pleased with the immediate no-hassle service.
THE REST OF THE STORY
Now, Mary's name and address have been added to your autoresponder list of cooking enthusiasts. You know exactly what she (and all the other paying customers on that list) are interested in.
Later on, however many days later (it's up to you) your autoresponder sends Mary another email, thanking her again for her purchase, and asking if she has any questions. You might also send her a couple of recipes to further build her confidence and trust in you.
Still a few days later, she will receive a third message from you, once again with a free recipe or some other interesting bit of cooking information. In this message you will also casually mention a related product (or two) that you feel she will be interested in - you provide her with your affiliate link - and ask her to visit that site.
Mary likes the product you suggested, buys it, and you earn a nifty commission on the sale, with absolutely no effort on your part. Your autoresponder system did all the work!
HOW LONG DO YOU WANT THIS SYSTEM TO RUN?
It's totally up to you! As long as your autoresponder keeps sending Mary free recipes and cooking tips, she will keep opening your emails and reading them. And in each email she receives, she will also receive a link to a nice cooking related product that you suggest. By now, she has learned to trust you, and chances are very high that she will continue to buy in the future.
Now, we suggest that you go easy on Mary. Don't hammer her with daily or weekly emails. The general public is not as open to that tactic as are we who work within the online marketing arena.
But it's reasonable and polite for your autoresponder to continue contacting Mary once or twice a month, providing her with new cooking related information and your latest product recommendations.
And you can keep this system running for months or even years!
NICHE CUSTOMER MAILING LISTS - THE GOLDEN EGGS OF ONLINE MARKETING
Now that you know how this works for cooking enthusiasts, you can duplicate the system to automatically build niche customer mailing lists for all ten of the hot market areas covered in our
Niche Market Revenue Package.
And remember that the folks on your lists will be proven online buyers - and not simple prospects or freebie-seekers. Response from this type of mailing list can often be 20% or more - meaning 2 out of every 10 emails you send will result in a sale!
What is most important to begin with is that you get a dependable autoresponder system to do the work for you - and one that will allow you to set up niche customer lists for all your products and the related market areas of customer interest.
FINDING THE BEST AUTORESPONDER FOR YOU
There are two types of autoresponse systems available - the online version that you "rent" on a monthly basis, and the domain based version that you buy outright, and that will rest on your own website. Either one of my recommendations below will provide you with the ability to set up an unlimited number of niche customer lists.
If you have some programming and webmastering experience, you may want to consider buying your autoresponder software for a one time price, thereby avoiding the monthly rent payments. Here is a top shelf
domain based autoresponder that I have used the past three years, and still use on practically all my websites. The cost is about $100 US - but you'll own it forever and can install it on as many websites as you wish, as long as you own those sites.
But if the terms .cgi and .php frighten you, then you probably should start out with an online autoresponder. While it will cost you a few bucks each month for the service, the advantage for you will be the support system, and a team of experts in the background who take care of all the maintenance.
I no longer use online autoresponders, but before buying my own, I did use
this autoresponse system with great success. Since that time their service has improved even more, with technology going on in the background that gives them the highest rate of actual email delivery (and avoidance of spam filters) of any online autoresponder today.
WHERE TO FIND NICHE RELATED BACK-END PRODUCTS
Oh . . . that's easy! But first, I want you to do another little mental trick. I want you to start thinking like a niche customer.
If you bought an e-cookbook, what else would you be interested in? Maybe cookware, kitchen utensils, herbs and spices, gourmet foods?
If you bought "How To Play an ACE at Your Next Job Interview" you might also be interested in resume service, online job search memberships, even an improved wardrobe.
If you bought "True Confessions of a New Car Dealer" what would you be likely to need next? Car care products, accessories, insurance, even a new car loan!
The trick is to think like the customer, and then present them with buying options in which they most likely have an interest. You'll find that, with a little brainstorming, you can think of dozens of different items and services that you know will be of interest to your niche customers.
Now, did you know that you can become an affiliate for any one of thousands of major companies that offer practically every product and service under the sun?
Some of these companies are even household names you've seen advertised on TV - and they will pay you commission on sales, and sometimes even a fee for leads you send them.
What you need to do right now is go sign up for affiliate membership (it's free) at all the websites listed below. Then login, check the niche related categories and programs that are available to you, and start thinking like a customer.
